On April, 29, 2024, Lehi City formed an interlocal agreement with Alpine, American Fork, Cedar Hills, and Draper to explore the possibility of creating a new school district comprising the aforementioned cities. (Draper’s inclusion is limited to the portion of Draper within Utah County). This exploration process will include a financial feasibility study and two public hearings in each City prior to a final vote by each City Council on whether to put the item on the ballot. If the City Councils vote to put it on the ballot in November, voters in the respective cities will have the final say on whether or not a new school district is created.
