While you can turn on your pressurized irrigation connections on April 15, we’re encouraging everyone to hold off on watering your lawns until May 1st. By waiting a little longer to use secondary water, we can make a significant impact on water conservation, especially during the hotter months of summer.

On February 22, 2022, the Lehi City Council passed Ordinance #11-2022 which allows the use of the Lehi secondary water system (the water used for irrigation purposes) during the dates of April 15 to October 15. There are a few exceptions that should be considered. If you have just put in new seed or sod, please continue to water those. Also, make sure that if your trees or shrubs need some water to water them with a hose.
We are currently in Phase 1 of our Water Shortage Management Plan. Water users are encourages to follow responsible watering habits. Follow the lawn water guide at www.conservewater.utah.gov. It is important for any Lehi water user (municipal, commercial, and residential) to understand how to appropriately respond to a water shortage and what action should be taken by city administration and Lehi water users. The provisions of this plan apply to all persons, customers, and property utilizing water provided by the Lehi City Water Division.

The Utah Division of Water Resources publishes a weekly watering guide, which determines how frequently we should water based on temperature and precipitation rates. Visit conservewater.utah.gov/guide for more information.
The Parks Division has developed a watering schedule to maintain our parks and facilities. The goal is to apply 1/2 inch of water per water cycle. The frequency of watering varies depending on the type of facility and it’s primary use.
