Why is this workshop so important?
Lehi has higher-than-average rates of youth experiencing depressive symptoms or having a low commitment to school, along with other risk factors that can lead to long-term problems. Even if your kids aren’t currently showing these signs, as a parent, you play a crucial role in buffering against these issues. This workshop will equip you with the tools to do just that.
About Lehi Cares Coalition
Lehi Cares is a community change coalition dedicated to preventing youth problems before they start. We’re a group of individuals just like you—we either have kids, work with kids, or simply care about making our city a better place. Supported by sponsorship from Lehi City government, we focus on decreasing youth engagement in delinquency, violence, substance abuse, school dropout, depression, anxiety, teen pregnancy, and suicide.
Our Projects Include:
- Assessing risk and protective factors among Lehi’s youth
- Evaluating available resources to support youth and families in Lehi
- Participating in Lehi Round-Up activities
- Hosting a youth logo contest
- Partnering with a state drug use prevention initiative to create a media campaign around underage drinking
- Providing free workshops that teach parents how to increase the likelihood of healthy outcomes for their kids.
